Every great actor should first go for a film of Johnny Waters, to become a great one. It 'happened to Johnny Depp, who was called later by directors like Jim Jarmusch and actor became a fetish for Tim Burton. If you want to laugh, you are right in front of the film "Cry Baby" is a mockery of the plates along the 50s, where there could be reflected here and there lines of Elvis, parodies of "Grease", praising that bad, "ugly" in the sense of the term grunge.
Cry Baby (Johnny Depp) is a high school student a little 'rebel. As skin-fixing and driving cars with flames painted on the body and is accompanied by other rebels as the sister peppers, busty Wanda (Traci Lords), the handsome and stupid Milton and the freak of nature Cleaver. To complete this picture, the grandmother Ramona Racchia and uncle, second wife of this, Belvedere (Iggy Pop). In the same high school there are regular, who hated them, especially because, at some point, Allison (Amy Locane), the girlfriend of one of them falls in love with Cry Baby and goes with him to a party at Turkey Point, a sort of dance hall on an artificial lake, where give vent to the wildest sex. I regularly engage in a raid, which destroyed the bike Cry Baby, who was arrested and ends up in reform school because of injury. Accomplices many songs and the passion of the court to the grandmother of Allison, Cry Baby and Allison will be pardoned will be convinced that not necessarily bad and evil are two words that go together (even if Depp is not bad bad). A circus continued, a wink to what is obvious - such as Traci Lords ending primed by a pornographer - a kind of carousel made of strange faces, in which the good will that the prize is love. Beautiful
the initial credits, used to be in the nature of the characters: the scene takes place in schools where children must be vaccinated and, without words, between them and the other is order established likes and dislikes that will then be better clarified in the course of 'work. Few sentences of dialogue, then, are deliberately excessive and grotesque not only becomes the mask, but the whole essence of a film funny and irreverent.
rating: 7 and a half.
